April is flying and the Big Sexy Crew is too

April is flying past, and there is no slowing down for Big Sexy Racing!

The last two weeks have had some amazing racers, and awesome results from ranging from 70.3s, to the Boston Marathon, road and trail running races, duathlons.  Pushing the limits and having fun.

Jackie Pomeroy not only raced both on Tuesday April 10 and Wednesday April 11 at the Texas State Senior Games. She took 2nd place in both the races; 5K in 30:28 and 10K in 1:01:39, just 9 days after her first trail marathon.

With these rockstar results, Jackie is now qualified and heading to the National Senior Games in Albuquerque in 2019.

Shannon Florea qualified for Kona at 70.3 Liuzhou taking 1st in her Age Group with an impressive finish of 4:58:09 all while riding a single speed bike due to the shifting on her bike not functioning, thus being stuck in one gear the entire ride.

How about this year’s WET Boston Marathon!  What a race everyone there toed the line to and gave it their all.

Big Sexy Racing’s Alice Feeney and Nali Hummel were both right there in the midst of it all!  What amazing performances done by both.

Alice rocked out an amazing 3:50:46!!!

Nali completed in an outstanding 3:30:23!!!

Freshly back from the nice warm climate of Florida 70.3, Jason Madaus took on the Reedsburg Vet Fest Half Marathon (turned to 20K due to weather conditions of cold, wind, rain, snow, sleet and hail).
A finish time of 1:44:29 and a 4th place AG placing.  Of course his son braving out the elements with him for the 5K made it all that much better.
Location does not matter, weather may follow anywhere.  Out at the Lifetime South Beach Triathlon the winds and crazy rough surf, turned the race to a duathlon.
But the show went on and Rich Chojnacki took a very impressive 1st in his AG, 2nd Overall, with a finish of 2:25:49!!!

Tanner Lovelace took on the Jordan Lake Open Water Swim, finishing with a great time of 44:10 and a 10th AG Finish!  Way to go!!!!
Lake Jordan Swim
Last weekend the fun kept on rolling with multiple other great efforts, finishes, and placings.  The team members never cease to amaze anyone with all off the hard work put in, and fun out on the race course.
Aaron Miller went out after the Bengal Triathlon finishing with a great time of 1:07:28, a PR and also giving a great 4th place AG finish.  What a solid performance, great job!

What week would be complete without at least one trail run.  Well, Elton Reed, went for that one with the Great Scorpion Trail Run.
Elton Reed
Finishing this trail run with a time of 6:47:49 which is PR too!!!  Amazing work out there!!!!
Lori Abbey attacked the Palace Saloon 5K (which is actually the largest stand-alone 5K in Tallahassee).

Lori, put in some amazing work for this race.  She ended up 48th female (OA), 12th Master female (40+), 5th Grand Master female (50+), and to top it all of she got a 2nd place AG (50-54) with a PR from last year!!!

Paul Morrison raced the Race to Robie Creek Half Marathon with an impressive finish of 1:54:53.
Paul Morrison
Aaron Gray race Rage Triathlon taking 1st in his AG and 7th Overall with an impressive time of 1:14:18.  To make the day even more special he had a special first time race spectator!!!

Matt Diehl attacked the Delaware Valley Duathlon.  What an amazing race for him taking 1st AG with a 1:29:25!
With great nutrition from F2C Nutrition and fresh legs from Normatec he was really able to push hard on this shorter distance course which we all know how much effort those races take!!!
Another outgoing and awesome teammate, Marcus Hock did the Greenwich Cup Half Marathon.

What a great race it looks like, suns out and look at that fun being had while on the course finishing with a 2:43:08.  Congrats on another awesome finish!
Bill Stearman got to take some words to heart that he heard a few years ago as he went up to ‘collect his winnings’.  He took an amazing 2nd place AG and 7th overall at the Heart and Sole Sprint Triathlon with a great finish time of 1:14:50.

Patty Magaudda rocked it out at the La Jolla Half Marathon with an awesome finish of 2:20:42.

Another shout out to Erika Ball with a great finish at the West Point Lake Olympic Triathlon!  She finished with a great 2nd place Athena with an outstanding time of 3:41:51!
Erika Ball
This race was a challenging one, as they all are in their own way, but with no excuses got through the swim while it rained, bike with 1200 feet of elevation in just under 25 miles and to boot, strong winds too.  All while still finishing with a 10K PR!
Wow, what an amazing team and all of those awesome results.  It just shows that the hard work pays off and the race courses can really be the celebration of the training journey!  Can’t wait to see what the next weekend will bring now!
